Nikon Launches Pre-Orders for New COOLPIX W150 Compact Camera

Nikon has revealed pricing and availability for its latest compact digital camera model, the COOLPIX W150. Pre-orders are now live via B&H Photo-Video for $169.95, with shipments expected to launch in early September.

Designed for family-friendly use, the COOLPIX W150 is a rugged, point-and-shoot camera with a waterproof and shockproof construction perfect for vacations and travel. The device features a 13.2-megapixel image sensor with a sensitivity range of ISO 125-1600, and a NIKKOR 3x optical zoom lens with a 30-90mm equivalent focal length range. In addition, the unit supports full HD 1080p30 video recording, and offers several different in-camera scene modes and editing options for photos.


A rear 2.7-inch 230-k dot LCD screen is integrated as well, along with a Target Finding autofocus function and a built-in flash. Meanwhile, the COOLPIX W150 also boasts underwater shooting capabilities with waterproof use rated for up to 10m (33 feet), shockproof protection from 1.8m (6 feet), and freezeproof operation up to -10°C (14°F). Finally, the camera is compatible with the Nikon SnapBridge app, allowing users to wirelessly upload images from the device to their phones.

In addition to the new COOLPIX W150, other recent entries in the Nikon COOLPIX lineup include the COOLPIX B600 & COOLPIX A1000 digital cameras.
