Physical Views & Controls

The Tamron 16-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro is a compact all-in-one lens that Tamron has specifically designed for cameras with APS-C sized image sensors. With one of the largest zoom ranges of 18.8x and a 35mm equivalent of 24.8mm-456mm, it gives your camera a versatile zoom range, much like that of a compact super-zoom camera. From vast landscapes to distant subjects, this lens will handle most situations without you having to stop and change lenses. The two rubber grips give the lens a great feel, and total control. Both the zoom and focus rings turn smoothly, although the zoom lever does get a little tough to turn in the middle of the range.

This new Tamron lens is loaded with all of their great features that assist you with your shooting. The Piezo Drive motor gives the lens an incredibly fast and quiet AF system, so you can quickly and quietly autofocus; weather shooting stills or video. Vibration Correction* steadies the lens while you shoot handheld, helping to keep the images sharp without having to raise the ISO settings. It will also help you while shooting in low-light situations.

*The Sony A-mount model does not feature the VC since the Sony camera's have built-in Image Stabilization.

Auto Focus and Vibration Correction can both be turned on and off with the simple flip of a switch. Both switches give a clear click when toggled, so you know that the position has changed without looking. They both also take a good amount of pressure to change them, so you do not have to worry about accidentally changing settings.

The lens-lock feature will lock the lens at the 16mm position. This is a great travel feature, keeping the lens as compact as possible and in the safest position until you are ready to use it.
