Record Screens & Menus

(Note: Please excuse the quality of these screen captures, Sony does not provide an Audio/Video cable with the A500, so we had to photograph the LCD.)

Here you can see the A500 in Live View mode. The LCD offers a wealth of information in the default settings shown above. You can change the amount of information onscreen by pressing the DISPlay button. Above you can see icons for Exposure mode (P=Program), image mode (RAW+JPEG), image size (Large), Memory Card used (MS=Memory Stick Duo), number of remaining frames on current settings (132), and the battery level box and percentage. In the middle you can see all nine AF points, and along the bottom are the shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation indicators.

Above you can see what happens when you half-press the shutter release, and autofocus was successful. The AF points turn green, and a green AF successful dot is displayed in the lower left.

Here is the shooting information display when you are using the OVF (Optical ViewFinder) for shooting. You can see a good amount of information, along with Sony's unique shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation indicators.
