Bottom Line
Samsung has steadily become the go-to camera manufacturer for touch screen LCD cameras and models with built-in Wi-Fi. With the growing popularity of the mirrorless ILC camera design, Samsung appears to have hit a home run with its NX2000 camera. This interchangeable lens model combines a compact camera body, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, and a 3.7-inch touch screen LCD to give photographers looking to make the jump from a point-n-shoot camera to an intermediate interchangeable lens camera a great option. Samsung has made this camera as easy to use as almost any beginner-level camera, while still providing some nice advanced features, such as the ability to shoot in RAW and a large image sensor. The NX2000's MSRP may seem a little high versus some other starter ILC cameras, but the touch screen LCD screen, APS-C sized image sensor, and Wi-Fi capability make the Samsung NX2000 a pretty good value. In the late spring of 2013, Samsung announced their latest NX-series camera, the NX2000. With a lot going for it, the SMART Camera NX2000 features a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS image sensor -- same as many DSLRs. The DRIMe IV Engine, or image processor, reduces noise, improves speed, and monitors accurate color reproduction. If taking pictures of sporting events, the fast 8fps continuous capture rate will come in handy. There's also a large 3.7-inch touch screen with a graphic user interface much more akin to a Smartphone than most digital cameras.

14 different SMART Modes, as well as the i-Function controls, offer photographers a variety of ways to creatively adjust and customize imagery and camera settings. Full HD 1920x1080p Movie Recording is standard in 2D with any of the 12 compatible NX-series lenses, but if you opt for the 45mm 2D/3D lens (sold separately), you can also capture full quality 3D stills and movies.

Despite a full freight of professional camera performance specs, Samsung seems most excited about the NX2000's Wi-Fi Connectivity features, which work in conjunction with the Samsung SMART CAMERA App; available for both Android and iOS devices. AutoShare sends photos as they are taken to a smartphone or tablet. Near Field Communication (NFC) technology syncs the NX2000 to NFC-enabled Android smartphones and tablets via a direct Wi-Fi connection. You can also use the Direct Link "hot key" to sync up your favorite social networking site, such as Facebook.

Finally, Samsung bundles a copy of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 with every purchase.
