In late summer of 2014, Samsung announced their new flagship NX-series camera, the NX1 SMART camera; which aims to deliver superior still images with impressive speed, cinema quality video in up to 4K resolution, and smartphone-esque wireless connectivity.

The NX1 boasts a best in class 28-megapixel APS-C-sized BSI CMOS image sensor mated to the DRIMe V image processor that supports an expanded ISO range (100-51200) as well as the NX AF (Auto Focus) System III with 205 Phase Detect AF points covering 90 percent of the frame. With the ability to track (using Samsung Auto Shot) and focus quickly), it's no surprise the NX1 has a 15 frames-per-second Continuous Shooting mode at full resolution. Samsung has also included its SMART Modes to give users pre-selected options for taking stylish photos like Panoramas or High Dynamic Range (HDR).

More than a still image camera, the NX1 is also a cinematographer's dream camera, capable of recording not only Full 1080p HD video, but also UHD (Ultra High Definition) and 4K video resolutions.

Finally, the NX1 has built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and NFC technologies to seamlessly connect the NX1 directly to the internet or a smartphone/tablet where you can do everything from send emails to back up files, and even remotely control the camera directly from your phone.
