Bottom Line
The Galaxy S6 is pushing the boundaries of smart phone camera technology, offering sophistication that avid photographers can appreciate, including a wide aperture (f/1.9), manual controls, as well as HDR and numerous attractive filters and effects. Read more in our Full Conclusion.
The metal and glass Galaxy S6 offers an attractive chassis that's a departure from its predecessor. In addition to good looks, the S6 offers a number of attractive photography features, including a generous number of effects and filters. Also, access to the camera function is quick: double-tapping the Home button launches the camera app (though you also can drag the camera icon in the corner of the screen, without having to enter your security PIN).

The large, 5.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen offers a very bright and sharp picture, and richly saturated colors to make your photos "pop". The primary camera captures 16M images, while the front-facing (or, "selfie" camera) records 5M images.

The Galaxy S6 records ultra high-definition video, and its editing app is quite sophisticated for an in-camera offering. Here, you can apply many effects, just as with still images, and trim your footage easily using the touch screen.
