Polaroid Z2300 Preview

Polaroid announced a new hybrid digital camera at the 2012 CEA Line Show, the Z2300, which embraces the modern digital age while hearkening back to the brand's instant photo heritage. The Z2300 combines a 10.0 Megapixel image sensor with an integrated printer, which uses patented ZINK Printing Technology. ZINK, for Zero Ink, Printing Technology allows users to capture, edit in-camera, and print a full color 2x3-inch photo in less than a minute.

Much like the classic Polaroid pictures, ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with cyan, yellow, and magenta dye crystals embedded inside. Before printing, embedded dye crystals are clear, so the photo paper appears white. The integrated camera printer then uses heat to activate the color dye crystal and creating your photo.

In addition to the instant-print features, the Z2300 is like all modern day digital cameras, recording stills and movies to its SD card slot, which is expandable up to 32GB.

Polaroid Z2300 Features:
  • 10.0 Megapixel image sensor
  • 3.0" LCD screen
  • HD Video recording
  • Integrated Printer with ink-free ZINK Technology
  • Save pictures digitally with an SD card (expandable up to 32GB)
  • Speaker and microphone
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
The Polaroid Z2300 instant digital camera is available now with an MSRP of $159.99. Color choices include black or white. 2x3" Premium ZINK Paper sells in 30-sheet or 50-sheet packs for $14.99 and $24.99, respectively.
