Pentax XG-1 Preview

Ricoh Imaging has debuted a budget-friendly new bridge camera, the Pentax XG-1. This all-in-one digital camera boasts DSLR-inspired styling, a 16-megapixel CMOS image sensor capable of recording 1920x1080 Full HD Video @ 30 frames-per-second, a 3.0-inch LCD display, ISO settings from 100-3200, and a whopping 52x optical zoom lens with an f/2.8-5.6 maximum aperture and a sensor-shift shake reduction (SR) system to reduce blurry photographs and shaky-cam video when in full telephoto mode.
If you're at a sporting event, you'll enjoy the ability to engage High-Speed Continuous Shooting at 4.7 frames-per-second for up to 10 frames (in full resolution). If you enjoy stylistic nature or texture photography, the XG-1 is capable of capturing macro shots as close as 1 cm away from the lens. There's also an HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode, which combines three images at multiple exposure levels -- one over exposed, one properly exposed, one under exposed -- to increase saturation and available details in the brightest and darkest sections of your composition.
