Playback Screens & Menus

Viewing your captured images on the LCD screen is accomplished by pressing the playback button on the back of the camera. Again the DISP button allows you to change the amount of information that is shown about the images, ranging from nothing to a full list of details including full-color histograms.

Turning the back command dial clockwise in playback mode takes the camera into its index mode. Here you can view thumbnails of the images that are saved on the camera's SD card. Turning the dial more increases the number of thumbnails or even takes you to the calendar view. Once there you can choose to view images based on the date in which they were taken.

Turning the same command dial counter-clockwise will zoom in on your current image up to 16x. Once you have zoomed in, you can use the 4-way controller to scroll around the image. This is a great way to check image quality, sharpness and detail when it is not convenient to look on a computer or monitor. You can also use the touch LCD to zoom in on images; both the pinch and tap techniques work.
