Bottom Line
The Stylus Tough 6020 offers some great features for those looking for a "lifeproof" digicams as well as captures very nice 14-megapixel photos. However, its short comings (e.g. very slow performance) make it difficult for use to recommend this one. Read more in our Full Conclusion.
The little brother to the Stylus Tough 8010 we reviewed earlier this summer (2010), the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 is a "toned-down" version of its big brother. While still offering 14-megapixels, a 5x internal optical zoom lens, 720p HD video, and a 2.7-inch LCD screen, Olympus has made the 6020 a bit more affordable by decreasing some of the "Tough" specs. The 6020 is Waterproof in depths of up to 16ft., Freezeproof down to 14°F, Shockproof from drops of up to 5ft, and has only 1GB of internal memory compared to the 8010's 2GB. The 6020 still retains Olympus' Tap control technology, allowing for easy camera control when pressing the small buttons is not convenient (e.g. when wearing winter gloves, etc.).
