Behind weather-resistant rubber flaps, the E-3 features three IO connectors from top to bottom: A USB port, A Video Out port and a DC-in jack. Using the Video Out port you can display images on a TV. The signal is selectable for NTSC or PAL format.
On the front of the E-3 you'll find an external flash connector.

The E-3 is powered by a Olympus BLM-1 Li-ion rechargeable battery pack that fits inside the hand grip.
There is an optional AC-1 power adapter. The number of shots with 50% flash is approx. 610 shots using the
optical viewfinder (CIPA testing standard). It took almost 2 hours to recharge the battery. The
Li-ion battery charger BCM-2 is provided with the E-3.
![]() The HLD-4 is an optional power battery holder created especially for the E-3. It is equipped with a shutter release button and other essential dials for easy operation during vertical-format shooting. The body of the unit is sealed to provide the same high resistance to dust and moisture offered by the E-3. The unit can hold two BLM-1 lithium ion batteries like the ones used in the E-3.
