Bottom Line
Nikon's Coolpix P100 is loaded with awesome features and plenty of useful exposure modes to choose from, not matter what experience level you may be. It offers excellent shooting performance, nice HD video quality, and a versatile 26x optical zoom lens. The only real down fall to this model is the above average amount of noise in photos, which effects fine details. Read more in our Full Conclusion.
Nikon's Coolpix P100 is a powerful super-zoom model that boast some appealing upgrades when compared to its predecessor, the Coolpix P90. The P100 has been updated with a high-speed 10-megapixel BSI CMOS image sensor, along with a longer 26x optical zoom range. This new CMOS type sensor may offer 2 less megapixels than the P90's CCD unit, however this sensor boasts faster burst mode speeds (up to 10fps at full resolution, compared to only 1.8fps on the P90), full 1080p HD video and better battery life thanks to decreased power consumption (250 frames per charge compared to 230).

This model is designed for those who are looking for a capable digital camera that will give them increased versatility over a typical point-n-shoot, with more advanced exposure options and broader sensitivity and zoom ranges. The P100 is also a great bridge camera for those who are not quite ready to make the jump into the dSLR world, but still want a platform from which to learn more about photography with.
