Bottom Line
If you don't want to carry a gargantuan smartphone, you'll like this compact offering. You get decent image quality and fairly quick auto focus, though you won't get a top-of-the-line touch screen or the quickest burst mode. The gesture wake-up feature is handy, and the photo filters are well done. Read more in our Full Conclusion.

The Motorola Moto X is a mid-tier Android smartphone that can be purchased with a two-year contract, or in unlocked versions. It features a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE cellular network capabilities, and 16-32GB of internal storage. The 4.7-inch AMOLED display is large, but limited to a 1280x720 resolution. Thankfully, the 10-megapixel Rear Camera is capable of recording Full HD 1080p video. Other nice camera features include Autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, face detection, and HDR (High Dynamic Range) for both still images and video. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a full suite of Google apps are included too -- including 50GB of Google Drive storage ("free" for two years).
