Record Screens & Menus

Please excuse the quality of our screen images, Kodak does not include an A/V cable.

This is the REC. mode screen for the M590 when in Program mode. The top left icon shows what picture mode the camera is in, and next to that is the flash mode icon. These two icons are always shown, but using the Info button allows you to display the next three icons for Exposure Compensation (0.0), Drive mode, and AF mode. You can also see the number of available frames at the top right, and the battery level indicator at the bottom. Pressing the Info button again will clear everything from the screen, with the exception of the Record and Flash mode icons.

Half-pressing the shutter release allows the camera to focus and select the correct exposure settings. When focus is achieved you will see the AF points turn green, however if you see any of the AF points turn yellow it means that you are not in focus.

The M590 also features a Smart Capture mode and various Scenes settings. In Smart Capture, the camera will select the proper exposure and scene mode settings for you automatically, helping you produce the best photos possible with little to no input from you; you just frame and snap.

Or, when in the Scenes menu, you can choose the specific Scene mode for the shot you are about to capture. The list includes all of the following: Portrait, Landscape, Close Up, Flower, Sunset, Backlight, Candle Light, Children, Manner/Museum, Text, Beach, Snow, Fireworks, Self Portrait, Night Portrait, Night Landscape, Panning Shot, High ISO, Sport and Panorama.
