Record Mode Screens & Menus
Here's a live screen showing the AUTO record mode. Icons across the top indicate the flash is
in Auto mode, 6.0MP image size, 94 pictures remaining, upper right icon indicates we are using
an optional SD memory card, halfway down the left side is the live histogram display, and the
"0.0" on the bottom is the exposure compensation value. You can change this value by pressing up
or down on the 4-way controller.
When you half-press the shutter to achieve the focus and exposure lock, the AF target marks will
turn green and show what area it is focusing on. The shutter speed and aperture values are also
displayed.
Scene mode lets you select from: portrait, sport, children, party, beach, snow, fireworks,
flower, self portrait, backlight, night portrait, night landscape, manner/museum, and text. As
you navigate the menu, a description of each mode and hints for using it are presented.
Auto menu options:
AF Control - Continuous AF, Single AF Color Mode - High Color, Natural Color, Low Color, B&W or Sepia Sharpness - High, Normal or Low Set Album - Select an image folder Image Storage - Auto (select card if used or internal) or Internal Setup Menu - Enter SETUP menu
Here you can see Program record mode. It allows more control over the exposure process. Icons
indicate Auto flash mode, 6.0MP image size, 93 pictures remaining, optional SD card is being
used, the live histogram display, exposure compensation (0.0), and the ISO is set to Auto. To
change from Program to Manual mode press up or down on the 4-way controller.
Manual mode is just like Program, but allows you to set the desired shutter speed and aperture
values. the "-4.0" is the exposure indicator. You want to get it as close to 0.0 as possible.
Again, the 4-way controller is used to change these settings.
P/M menu options:
Exposure Compensation - Override the metering by ±2.0EV in 0.3 steps Picture Size - 6.0 MP, 5.3 MP (3:2 aspect ratio), 4.0 MP, 3.1 MP, 1.1 MP White Balance - Auto, Daylight, Tungsten, Fluorescent or Open Shade Focus Zone - Multi-zone, Center-zone AF Control - Continuous AF, Single AF Color Mode - High Color, Natural Color, Low Color, B&W or Sepia Sharpness - High, Normal or Low Reset - restores all settings to factory default Set Album - Select an image folder Image Storage - Auto (select card if used or internal) or Internal Setup Menu - Enter SETUP menu
The C360 has a very respectable macro (close-up) focusing mode with coverage from 2 -- 28 in.
(0.05 -- 0.7 m) in wide, 9 -- 28 in. (0.22 -- 0.7 m) in tele.
You can record VGA 640 x 480 or QVGA 320 x 240 motion video with audio. The length
of the movies is dependent on available space on your memory card. You can select a
maximum clip length of 5, 15 or 30 seconds if desired. The optical zoom can be preset
before recording but not during.
