Bottom Line
The Fujifilm X-Pro2 has a look that will remind you of many other mirrorless Fujifilm cameras, as they offer a retro style with plenty of dials and buttons to control the camera's primary settings. But the X-Pro2 sets itself apart from most other mirrorless offerings with strong image quality, especially when using high ISO settings. The high price tag on the X-Pro2 will drive away inexperienced photographers, but for those with enough experience to take advantage of the X-Pro2's features, this is a model that's fun to use and performs strongly. In January of this year (2016), Fujifilm announced a new rangefinder flagship for its X-Series line.

The X-Pro2 mixes in a 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III image sensor with the revised X-Processor Pro that has bumped up speed (8 FPS continuous shooting) along with a new Fast AutoFocus (AF) with 273 AF points (including 77 phase detection points). This camera focuses in 0.08 seconds, starts up in 0.4 seconds, and boasts 0.05 second shutter time lag as well as a 0.25 shutter shooting interval and a 1/8000 second top shutter speed. All of this translates to the fastest camera in the history of the X-Series.

In addition to speed, the X-Pro2 is also rugged, featuring 61 points of weather sealing, which help it be dust and water-resistant as well as freeze resistant down to 14°F.

While it's a bit of a shame that it can't shoot 4K, the X-Pro2 can shoot Full 1080p HD Videos at up to 60 FPS at @ 36Mbps. To help you frame shots, the X-Pro2 features two displays: a 3.0" rear LCD display as well as a newly developed Advance Hybrid Multi Viewfinder, which allows users to switch between an optical viewfinder with direct view and an electronic viewfinder (which simultaneously displays various settings). This viewfinder also has a Multi-Magnification which will adjust viewfinder magnification settings based on the lens you're using, and then display that image on top of the optical viewfinder. The idea is to help shooters get focus and composition exactly right.

Fujifilm's engineering teams have also worked tirelessly to revamp the camera's layout, user interface, and customization options. In other words, the physical dials should be more intuitive and ergonomic while you can create up to 32 shortcuts in the menu interface.

For those looking to create stylized or filmic digital images, the X-Pro2 offers multiple creative filters, a monochrome ACROS film simulation option, and a Grain Effect mode. Lastly, the X-Pro2 offers built-in Wi-Fi, which works with a variety of apps to either connect this camera to a smartphone for quick backups and social media sharing, or to compatible wireless printers.
