Playback Screens & Menus
To change the data displayed on the screen in Playback mode, press the Disp/Back button on the back of the camera. You'll see a popup menu along the bottom of the screen. Use the four-way button to pick the display mode you want to use and then press OK. You'll have to make your selection quickly, as the popup menu disappears in less than 2 seconds.
The display options are: Information On, Information Off, Favorites, and Detail Information (which is the screen that includes the histogram). The Favorites selection allows you to mark a photo as a favorite and rate it from one to five stars.
You can view your stored photos on the X-A2 using thumbnail grid view. Spin the vertically aligned black command dial embedded in the back panel of the camera to move through the thumbnail grid views, which include 2x2, 3x3, and 10x10 options. The highlighted thumbnail will be a little larger than the other thumbnails, and it will have a thick white border around it. Press OK to bring the highlighted thumbnail to the full screen view.
You can magnify an image on the screen in Playback mode by spinning the black sub-command dial on the camera's back panel to the right. You can pick from 16 levels of magnification. A small white box will appear on the screen as you're zooming in, indicating the current view's position related to the full screen, but the white box disappears after a fraction of a second when you stop spinning the dial.
You can view the same shooting data about movies that you can view with still images. Just press the Disp/Back button on the back of the camera to see the popup menu along the bottom of the screen.
With a movie displayed on the screen in Playback mode, press the downward four-way button to play it back. A grid will appear along the top of the screen indicating the time elapsed and remaining in the video clip.
While in Playback mode, you can press the Menu button on the back of the camera to see the Playback menu. Three pages of Playback menu options are available, indicated by the green tabs with the Play icon along the left side of the screen. Use the four-way button to highlight the menu options and then press OK to make a selection or press the right four-way button to see additional menu options.
