Fujifilm FinePix XP120 Preview

Need a rugged point-and-shoot with an optical zoom lens that doesn't break the bank? Fujifilm just announced the FinePix XP120 at CES 2017. Waterproof up to 65 feet, shockproof to 5.7 feet, freezeproof to 14°F/ -10°C, and dustproof, this tough little digicam sports a new ergonomic design as well as a 3.0" LCD display with an anti-reflective coating for shooting in bright conditions or under water.

The XP120's 16.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor is mated to a FUJINON 5x optical zoom lens with a 28mm wide-angle setting. In still mode, you can shoot up to 10fps in Burst Mode or 60fps in Advanced Burst Mode, capture stills with an Interval Timer, access 11 artistic filters, make "cinemagraphs" (a still image/video combination), or let the camera do all the heavy lifting in Scene Recognition mode.

The XP120 can also shoot Full HD 1080p videos in any one of 7 art filters at 10, 30 or 60 fps with or without wind filter noise reduction applied. You can also convert your interval timer shots into a Time Lapse video, or create a 360-degree panorama. No 2017 digicam is complete without wireless connectivity -- the XP120 can connect to smartphones, transfer files wirelessly and, using the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app, turn any compatible device into a remote control / remote viewfinder. Fun stuff.
