Bottom Line
The S9900W offers WiFi, full HD video recording, dedicated buttons that ease navigation, and plenty of attractive filters. The star of the show, of course, is the powerful 50x zoom lens, which gets you up close to far-off subjects, and it performs well at shooting macro. However, images lack sharp details overall, autofocus can be unreliable, and burst modes fatigue after 10 frames. Read more in our Full Conclusion.
In early 2015, Fujifilm announced two S-series sibling cameras, the FinePix S9900W & S9800. These two digicams are identical save for one feature. The S9900W includes Wi-Fi, and therefor costs about $20 more than the S9800. Wi-Fi allows you to connect the S9900W to a smartphone or tablet running a free app. Once connected, you can transfer images to the phone for emailing, backing up, or sharing on your favorite social networking sites. You can also opt to remotely control the S9900W directly from your phone or tablet.

Aside from wireless connectivity, the S9900W boasts a 16.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor with a wide 100-12800 ISO range. The 50x optical zoom lens has a maximum aperture of F/2.9 at its widest angle, and F/6.5 at full telephoto. Intelligent Digital Zoom increases range to 100x zoom, while Super Macro mode can find focus as close as 1cm. 5-Axis Image Stabilization, a combination of 2-axis optical image stabilization and 3-axis electronic, will help keep your Full 1080p HD videos shake-free despite the long reaching zoom.

Fujifilm claims the S9900W also offers quick performance, whether it be starting up in one second or 10 frames-per-second Continuous Shooting. Motion Panorama 360°, High-Dynamic Range capture, and 11 Advanced Filter effects round out the feature set, allowing you to experiment with all sorts of image combinations.
