Record Mode Screens & Menus

The LCD screens that you see in this review had to be photographed as there is no video out- port that we normally use to capture the displays with. LCD monitors on any camera were never designed with enough resolution to be photographed. So we hope you understand why these screen captures are not up to standard.

Above is the display while in Auto record mode. The line of info across the top starts on the left with a red box containing a camera icon and "A" which is the symbol for Auto Record mode. The eye icon represents the Red_Eye reduction flash mode. The "0.3M" represents image resolution of 0.3 megapixel (640x480) and the "756" represents the quantity of frames that can be recorded on the SM card at the image size set on the camera.

The center screen yellow brackets represent the default center focus mode called "AF" is active and the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the scene. When the shutter release is half depressed, the focus brackets get smaller and the aperture and shutter speed values for the impending photograph are displayed at the bottom. If that speed is below 1/60 of a second, a camera shake warning icon () is displayed in the right side of the screen.

Pressing the DISPlay button next to the LCD toggles from the above screen to the live image without any data display. Pressing it again brings up the grid screen in both Auto or Manual Record.

This is the Manual record screen with superimposed two vertical and two horizontal composition and alignment grid lines. This Grid is available in either Manual or Auto record modes. Also active is the RedEye reduction flash mode and Macro focus.
