The Fujifilm FinePix E900 features a 9-megapixel 5th Generation Super CCD HR sensor Which makes it the highest resolution available in a consumer digital camera at the time of this review. The compact and lightweight FinePix E900 is the current flagship of Fujifilm's E-series. The fully automatic features of the E900 provide point-and-shoot simplicity, while manual and customizable feature settings provide additional control, particularly when combined with the power of optional lenses.

The E900 incorporates Fujifilm's innovative Real Photo Technology, which provides many benefits including faster operation (1.3 second startup time and 0.10 second shutter lag), low noise processing, better low light shooting, and higher shutter speeds to minimize blurriness in photos. When a still picture isn't enough to capture the moment you can make use of the 640x480 motion video recording at a smooth 30 frames per second. Capture all the action and sound of any event and then play it back on your big screen TV in nearly HDTV quality.

In addition to a compact and ergonomic travel-friendly design, the E900 offers a large 2-inch LCD screen making taking and sharing pictures easy. A mode dial provides easy access to advanced shooting modes and a 4x optical zoom, which can be enhanced with optional lens adapters, allows user to tailor each shot to their needs. Other versatile shooting functions include a live histogram display for exposure settings and a highlight warning function. Advanced users will appreciate the lossless RAW image format for the ultimate in picture quality.

Downloading images and movies to the host computer is fast and easy thanks to its high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity. You can also use the USB port for direct printing with any PictBridge compatible photo printer, no computer is necessary. Storage is via xD-Picture Card media which is available up to 1GB in capacity. Power is supplied by standard AA type batteries, "off the shelf" alkaline batteries can be used but high- capacity NiMH rechargeable cells are recommended for the best performance.
