Record Modes

Casio Exilim EX-Z3


This is the still image record screen. The top-center icon indicates the record mode (Single, Best Shot or Movie) Upper left is showing icons for flash status, macro focus and incandescent white balance. There's space for 131 pictures at the current settings of 2048x1536 Fine and there is a SD card in the expansion slot. Center left is the realtime histogram display and in the center are the AF target marks. Lower left is the status of the battery and on the right is the ISO equivalent, time and date of capture.

The Z3 has three exposure modes: Single Frame, Best Shot and Movie mode.

The Best Shot mode features different pre-programmed exposure scenes to make photographic tasks easier. You select the scene that best fits your needs and the camera makes all the necessary settings for you.

There are 21 different Best Shot scenes:

    Portrait, Scenery, Portrait w/Scenery, Coupling Shot, Pre-Shot, Children, Candlelight Portrait, Party, Pet, Flower, Natural Green, Sundwown, Night Scene, Night Scene Portrait, Fireworks, Food, Text, Collection, Monochrome, Retro (Sepia), Twilight and Register Favorites (custom build your own Best Shot scene)




Casio Exilim EX-Z3


The Z3 can record 320x240 size motion video clips with audio for up to 30 seconds in length. These movie clips are saved as Windows AVI type files. The optical zoom cannot be used during recording but can be preset before recording begins.

Pressing the MENU button in record mode brings up the following screens:
    REC Mode - Single, night scene, movie

    Self-timer - Off, 2 or 10 secs

    Size - 2048x1536, 1600x1200, 1280x960, 640x480

    Quality - Fine, Normal, Economy

    EV Shift - Exposure compensation +/-2.0EV in 0.3EV steps

    White Balance - Auto, sunny, cloudy , incandescent, fluorescent, manual

    ISO - Auto, 50, 100, 200

    Digital Zoom - Digital zoom feature, On or Off

    Review - Review after capture, On or Off

    L/R Key - Assign a function to 4-way controller when in record mode: REC Mode, EV shift, Flash, White balance

    Memory (Retain settings from power off to power on)

    REC Mode - On, Off

    Flash - On, Off

    Focus - On, Off

    White Balance - On, Off

    ISO - On, Off

    Digital Zoom - On, Off

    MF Position - On, Off

    Beep - On, Off (camera sounds)

    Startup - On, Off (display selected image at startup for 2 secs)

    File No. - File numbering, continuous or reset

    World Time - Set the time zone for display

    Date Style - MM/DD/YY, DD/MM/YY, YY/MM/DD

    Adjust - Set time or date



Casio Exilim EX-Z3


    Language - Menu language (English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese)

    Sleep - Sleep timer 30s, 1m, 2m, Off

    AutoPowerOff - Turns camera completely off after 2m or 5m

    Format - Format the SD card

    Reset - Reset all parameters to default
