Casio Exilim EX-Z16 Preview

Casio continues to introduce affordable ultra-compact digicams, including the new Exilim EX-Z16. This diminutive camera measures just 3.89 x 2.30 x 0.85 inches, and can be tucked away in the smallest of pockets or purses. This is the most inexpensive Exilim camera we have seen yet (as of 9/2010), with a MSRP of just $99.99 US.

Although the EX-Z16 is very easy on the wallet, that doesn't mean it's light on features. This unit includes 12-megapixels, a 3x optical zoom, CCD-shift IS, 2.7-inch LCD, wide aspect video mode (848x480, 30fps), simplified menu system, dedicated movie record mode button, YouTube mode, and Best Shot technology.

Casio Exilim EX-Z16 Features:
  • 12.1-Megapixel; 1/2.3-inch square pixel CCD
  • 3x optical zoom lens covers 35.5 - 106.5mm (equivalent)
  • CCD-shift Image Stabilization
  • 2.7-inch, 230,400 dot LCD
  • Best Shot mode
  • Auto, Manual, Pan, Macro and AF tracking focus modes
  • YouTube movie mode
  • 14.9-MB internal memory
