Canon PowerShot SX730 HS Preview

If you're a family on the go and in need of a compact digital camera that captures high-quality stills, Full HD videos, and fits in your pocket, yet retains the reach of a 40x optical zoom lens, keep an eye out for this updated Canon PowerShot SX730 HS.

Replacing the outgoing SX720 HS, the SX730 HS boasts a 20.3MP High-Sensitivity CMOS image sensor mated to the DIGIC 6 image processor and the 24-960mm equivalent optical zoom lens. With an ISO range of 100 - 3200, you can capture shots in less than ideal lighting conditions. Intelligent IS (image stabilization) will also help you shoot in low light, and smooth out shaky movie recording. Speaking of movies, you can record videos in Full 1080/60p HD.
The 3.0" LCD screen is brand new for this model, featuring a 180-degree tilting design. It actually makes the camera slightly slicker than the previous generation, but Selfies with families and friends are a breeze. Self Portrait and Smooth Skin modes, located on the Mode Dial, push the background out of focus (like the new iPhone) and smooth out skin features. Also new for this year is Zoom Framing Assist. With this mode engaged, the SX730 HS will auto-zoom to keep close, medium, or wide framing ratios even if your subject moves within the frame or toward the camera itself.

The SX730 HS also features Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth wireless technologies for connecting the camera to smart devices where you can either share your photos on social media or remotely control the camera.
