Canon Powershot S300 Review
When you first select the Replay mode the last picture taken is displayed. You can
move backward or forward through the images using the LEFT and RIGHT buttons. The
amount of overlay information displayed is controlled by pressing the DISP button.
This frame shows the default information, across the bottom is 3/10 which means image
3 of 10 total. Superfine/Large image and the time and date it was captured.
Pressing the DISP button again brings up further icons on the left to indicate the capture mode (auto, manual, movie), drive mode (single, continuous), flash mode, exposure compensation and white balance.
If you press the DISP button again all of the overlay information is removed. This is
good for when you are showing the pictures on the TV and don't want the info displayed.
You can quickly search through stored images using the Index playback function
which is actuated by pressing the Wide zoom control button. Nine thumbnail size
images will be displayed and you can select one using the LEFT or RIGHT buttons
and then pressing the Telephoto zoom button.
The replay image can be magnified 2.5x by pressing the telephoto zoom button. Once the
image is enlarged you can move around inside of it using the LEFT or RIGHT buttons.
Movie clips can be replayed on the LCD screen without audio (the camera has no speaker).
When connected to a TV set with the A/V cable you will get both video and audio.
While playing back an image it can be quickly erased by pressing the "+/-WB" button.
Pressing the MENU button while in replay mode brings up the menu overlay with options for deleting the current image, deleting ALL the images, protecting the image, rotate the image (for proper display of portrait mode images on TV), auto play starts a slideshow and print order lets you set the DPOF printing information.
