The screen display in the Automatic record mode. The icons disappear quickly to allow you to see the image completely uninterrupted. Pressing the FUNC./SET button will bring it back momentarily. The info will look similar to that of the manual and scene screens.

When the color LCD is turned on and you half-press the shutter you will see which of the nine AF points (green rectangles) where used for the focus lock. The lightning bolt icon indicates the flash is charged and ready to fire. You will also see your exposure info and ISO settings the camera selected. The orange glow is from the AF assist lamp.

Setting the camera to the SCeNe position on the mode dial allows you to select from 10 preset shooting modes, each optimized for a specific shooting condition. The scene mode that you have selected will be shown in the top left corner. Under that you will see the ISO setting, drive mode, and Image quality. On the other side of the screen you will see the flash setting and the total number of remaining photographs on the memory card.

This is the Manual Record screen. Icons indicate ISO speed is 80, single frame drive mode, auto flash mode and the "camera M" icon indicates the Manual record mode. On the bottom is the image quality "S"uperfine and image size "L"arge and there's room on the SD card for 423 more pictures.

You can record movie clips with audio at 20 frames per second in 640x480 and 640x480 LP resolution as well as 30 fps at 320x240 resolution.
