Record Menu

  • Custom WB: To use this feature you first capture an image of a neutral target (gray card) under the desired lighting. This image is now used as the reference color temperature for future images until it is reset or disabled by chosing a different white balance option.

  • Color Temperature: Specify the white balance directly in degrees Kelvin from 2800°K to 10,000°K in 100°K increments.

  • Parameters: Up to three custom settings can be set and stored with desired sharpness level and JPEG compression settings. You can also modify the tone curves but that must be done via software with the IEEE 1394 cable.

  • Color Matrix: Sets the color characteristics for the image, with five options.
    1. Natural hue and chroma, best for capturing natural color tone.
    2. Sets the hue and chroma for skin tones.
    3. Adjusts hue and chroma to match high-chroma slide film.
    4. Corresponds to Adobe RGB color space.
    5. Lowers chroma, for more moderate color tone.

  • RAW+JPEG Record: Capture RAW or RAW and JPEG format simultaneously
    • RAW+Large/Fine JPEG
    • RAW+Large/Normal JPEG
    • RAW+Small/Fine JPEG
    • RAW - Capture only RAW

  • Review: Displays images immediately after capture on the color LCD. Options for displaying the image or the image and exposure information.

  • Review Time: Sets the length of display time for the review option. Two, four, eight seconds, or Hold.

  • Noise Reduction: Enable or disable Noise Reduction to reduce the image noise during long exposures.

Playback Menu

  • Protect Images: Protect (or unprotect) images from being deleted. Note that it does not prevent them from being erased is the card is formatted.

  • Erase All on CF Card: Deletes all images on the memory card except for those that have been Protected.

  • Highlight Alert: When this feature is turned on, potentially over-exposed areas of the image will blink.

  • Display AF Points: During image playback the AF points used at the time of exposure will be overlayed on the image.

Setup Menu

  • Auto Power Off: Sets the amount of inactivity time before the camera automatically turns itself off. (1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30 mins or Off)

  • File Numbering: Sequentially numbers images until the folder is full. Resets the file numbers. The M-Reset option creates a new folder and starts numbering them at 0001.

  • Date/Time: Set the time and date and select the desired display format

  • Format: Formats the CF card.

  • Sensor Cleaning: Sets up the camera for CCD sensor cleaning. Connect the camera to the AC power supply or insert a freshly charged battery and then use this function to open the shutter and lock up the mirror. "CCd CLn" will be displayed on the top LCD, do not turn camera off until cleaning is completed.

  • LCD Brightness: Adjusts the brightness of the color LCD.

  • Firmware: Update the camera firmware. Requires that the necessary files be located on the CompactFlash card.
