FUJIFILM X-T3 SHORT REVIEW
We are loving this new body from Fujifilm. They filled it with not just a new sensor and a new processor, but all the bells and whistles you’d want in a powerful APS-C mirrorless body (or full-frame, to be honest). The X-T3’s image game is strong. Thanks to its 26MP, backlit sensor and quad core processor, it’s faster and better at processing and actuating images as well as producing beautifully crisp, clear images with richer, deeper colors.
The autofocus and tracking is also faster and better (though not accurate as we would have preferred in low lighting) with 425 focus points. The dynamic range is superb; it’s got a slightly wider sensitivity range (though noise handling could have been better); and it has a higher frame rate of 20fps. Finally, it has more video recording capabilities than the X-H1 (though the in-body image stabilization could have been useful) and almost every other mirrorless camera that isn’t made by Panasonic. And, it’s extremely affordable for both hobbyists and pros at $1500. How can you ask for more?

SEOUL WITH THE FUJIFILM X-T3
Seoul is a shopper’s paradise, but it’s a photographer’s haven too. It’s is a pretty city, modern and cold from afar, but charming up close. So many shops and restaurants actually take the time to create adorable window displays and add thoughtful details to their storefronts. Street photography is easy, owing also to the fact that locals are savvy dressers. The trick here is to zoom in, not go wide, as Seoul is all about the details.

LOS ANGELES WITH THE FUJIFILM X-T3
LA is not the prettiest of cities, but there’s so much to do and see. There’s an epic coast lined with blue water kissing cliffs and beach babes sunning on golden beaches. Farther inland however, it’s a spawl. One need only visit Griffith Observatory to see this first hand. But it’s also a city of neighborhoods. And each neighborhood has its distinct personality, its distinct culture and flavor, its own collection of restaurants and watering holes unique to that neighborhood. To really photograph the true LA, you must first get to know these neighborhoods.

FUJIFILM X-T3 ISO PERFORMANCE
For all its many strengths, Fuji seems to have forgotten all about the X-T3’s noise handling capabilities. Yes, its sensitivity range (standard sensitivity of 160 to 12800, 80 to 51200 extended) is ever-so-slightly better than its predecessor and even the flagship X-H1. However, its noise handling seems to have gotten ever-so-slightly worse. Luminance noise already started manifesting at ISO 800 while chromatic noise became visible at ISO 2500. Worst, at ISO 25,600, the images are riddled noise and bad smoothing that no self-respecting photographer, pro or otherwise, would deem it useful.
FUJIFILM X-T3 CREATIVE STYLES
Not much has changed with X-T3’s film simulations. Much like the X-H1, it boasts 16 film simulations available for both still images and videos. Among these 16 is the fairly new Eterna, which came with the release of the H1, for a more cinematic look. The T3 does offer the new Monochrome Adjustment feature, which allows you to adjust the tones on the Monochrome and Acros film simulations to make your image warmer or cooler.
