Fujifilm FinePix F30 Zoom Review

Record Mode Screens & Menus
The Auto record mode is a simple "Point-n-Shoot" mode. The line of info across the top
starts on the left with a red box indicating "AUTO" record mode. The "6M" represents image
resolution of 6 megapixels, "F" indicates Fine compression, and "68" is the number of remaining
frames. The yellow brackets in the center denotes the auto focus target area.
Half-pressing the shutter release locks the autofocus, white balance and exposure. You will also see the aperture and shutter speed values.
Pressing the DISPlay button toggles: No overlay information, overlay information,
framing grid lines or the unique PostShot display shown here with the previous 3
images captured on the left and the live view on the right.
The Manual record mode lets you select values for many exposure
options - see menu below. Shown here we have set the White Balance, Exposure
Compensation and Spot Metering.
Aperture priority mode lets you select the desired aperture value, while the camera
chooses the correct shutter speed. A small aperture (larger f/number) increases the depth of
field (range of focus), where a large aperture (smaller f/number) decreases depth of field.
In Shutter speed priority you select the shutter speed and the camera selects the correct
aperture. Choose a fast shutter speed to freeze fast-moving subjects or use a slower shutter
speed to capture flowing water.
WHITE BALANCE - Auto, Manual Preset, Daylight, Shade, "Daylight" Fluorescent, "Warm White" Fluorescent, "cool white" Fluorescent, Incandescent HIGH-SPEED SHOOTING - Continuous exposure mode; on or off CONTINUOUS - Top 3, Final 3 or Long-Period Continuous AF MODE - Center, Multi or Continuous SET-UP - enter the SETUP menu
ISO - Auto or 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 COLOR MODE - Standard, Chrome (vivid), B&W
The F30's Macro focus mode allows you to focus from approx. 2.0 in. to 2.6 ft. at Wide angle or
12 in. to 2.6ft at telephoto.
Movie record mode, the recording size can be 640x480 or 320x240 @ 30fps with sound. The length depends on space available on the xD Card. The optical zoom lens can be set before recording begins but it can not be used during. |
