Playback Modes & Menus

(Note: All of these screens can be displayed on either the EVF or LCD)

Rotating the Power / Record / Play switch to the Play mode brings up the last image captured full screen with only minimal details. Icons in the upper left indicate that we have attached DPOF printing information, Protected the image and added a Voice Memo. The voice memo can be played back by pressing "down" on the 4-way selector.

Pressing the INFO button on the side displays the exposure information including image size, quality, shutter speed, aperture, ISO value and flash mode. You also get a small histogram and the time and date.

Pressing the DISP button toggles 9-up thumbnail index mode, here you can quickly search through your images to display one full screen by pressing the DISP button again.

Pressing the zoom lens Telephoto control button magnifies the image, there are many steps, the slider gauge tells you where you are currently. You can pan around inside of the image using the 4-way selector.

You can replay your movies full screen on either the color LCD or EVF. And you can also play them back on your TV when using the supplied A-V cable. Those big 640x480 30fps movies look great on the BIG screen.

The Play menu lets you delete the current picture, ALL pictures, set the DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) information, run a Slideshow, or add up to a 30-sec Voice Memo to an image.

The SHIFT button can be used in the playback mode to control the speaker volume or the brightness of the color LCD backlight.

You can record Voice Memos up to 30 seconds in length which are attached to the still image that you are currently viewing on the LCD screen.

SET-UP menu options:

      POSTVIEW - Image is shown for 2 secs after capture
      PREVIEW - Image is shown after capture, prompt to save or discard
      OFF - No display, immediate save.

  • MEDIA - xD-Picture Card or CF

  • POWER SAVE - 2 mins, 5 mins or OFF

  • FORMAT - Format media card

  • BEEP - Camera sounds Off, Low, High

  • SHUTTER - Shutter sound effects Off, Low, High

  • DATE/TIME - Set the internal clock

  • ADAPTER - Yes if using conversion lenses or No

  • FRAME NO. - Image numbering: Continuous or Reset

  • CCD-RAW - Enable RAW image capture

  • LANGUAGE - Menu language

  • VIDEO SYSTEM - Video out format: NTSC or PAL

  • USB MODE - Mass Storage, Printer or PC Cam (webcam mode)

  • 1394 MODE - FireWire port: Mass Storage or Camera Control mode

  • DISCHARGE - Fully discharge NiMH rechargeable batteries

  • RESET ALL - Resets all settings to default
