Here's the LCD display during record mode. The live histogram display feature is a nice

The QV3EX has a fixed focal length (non-zoom) lens so it features a rather extensive
12-step digital zoom with up to 3.2x magnificaton. Digital zoom simply enlarges
the central portion of the screen, something which can be done better, later using
software I might add - nothing beats a real, optical zoom lens.

Screen display with the exposure compensation engaged all the way to -2EV, it is
user settable for +/- 2EV in 1/3EV steps. The red (and white) arrows along the
bottom indicate the selected EV override value.

Up to 30 secs of 320 x 240 motion sequences can be recorded in AVI (Open DML Motion
JPEG) format. It is silent because the camera has no microphone.

The record options menu can be accessed in one of two different ways. Shown here is
the "Basic" version that lets you change the most common options quickly.
![]() By pressing the "DISP" button you can toggle between the Basic and Detail versions of the menu system. Shown here are the basic sub-menu screens of the Detail menu, from here you can access every user-configurable parameter available. |
