World's Oldest Existing Nikon Camera Up for Auction
Nikon has been around for almost 100
years and since then they've grown into one of the biggest camera
companies around. Though the company started in 1917, they didn't
produce their first camera until 1948.That first camera is known simply as the Nikon I, and that's the camera that's being auctioned off at the upcoming Westlicht Photographica auction. It's expected to bring in as much as a quarter of a million dollars.
What's exciting about the particular camera that's being auction is its serial number - 60924. It doesn't sound like much until you consider that the serial numbers for this camera started at 60922. That means that the Nikon I up for auction is the third camera that Nikon ever produced.
