WD Launches a Remote Photo Viewer App for Android

iPhone and iPad owners got theirs a little while back, but other smartphone owners have plenty to celebrate today as the new WD Photos app has been released for Android.

The new app will allow users of the Droid, Nexus One, HTC EVO and other Android phones to browse photos on their WD network drive from anywhere in the world. All you need is your smartphone, an internet connection and the app.

In addition to viewing photos, you can move pictures back and forth between your phone and your hard drive, and even search photos by name and date.

"By customizing the WD Photos app for Android phones," says WD vice president Dale Pistilli, "we provide a greater number of our users a better experience for viewing and sharing the precious photos safely stored at home on their WD home network drives."
