ViewSonic Goes 3D With a New Digital Photo Frame and Camcorder

The folks at ViewSonic prove that 3D doesn't have to be a huge step up in price. The new DV5 Pocket 3D HD camcorder comes in at just $179 but is capable of recording 3D content and even playing it back on a glasses-free 2.4 inch panel.

You can capture 3D stills or 3D video at a 720p resolution. It's a nice step in the right direction, though ViewSonic doesn't specify how many frames per second you'll be able to record.

The 3DPF8 is an eight inch multimedia frame that can handle your 3D photos and videos. If you don't have 3D photos and videos, don't worry. The 3DPF8 automatically converts 2D to 3D. Even better, you can view all that 3D content without needing to wear special glasses.

Like the camcorder, you'll find the 3DPF8 multimedia frame selling for just $179. Not bad for a leap into the third dimension.
