Vazen has detailed its latest lens model. The new 40mm t/2 1.8X Anamorphic Prime is set to become the world's first lens of its type designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras with 4:3 sensors.
The lens features a front anamorphic design, and uses a 1.8x squeeze to create a 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio when used with 4:3 M43 sensors like those found on the Panasonic GH5, Z-cam E2, and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. In addition, the device provides a fast t/2 aperture and 2.7" minimum focusing distance. Likewise, the unit has been designed to offer smooth oval bokeh and signature blue horizontal flare.
The VZ 40mm t/2 1.8X Anamorphic Prime Lens is set to start shipping later this month for an MSRP of $3,250. 28mm and 65mm models are also in the works for release later this year, but pricing has not been announced yet.
