USA TODAY Lists Options for Vacationing Digicam Users
In a USA TODAY story they list options for those vacationing with their digicams this year. What to do with a memory card full of memories when you're on the road has always been a problem. This year there are many options available. Wal-Mart, Costco and Kinkos have all upgraded their digital processing labs so you can have your digital images transferred to a CD while you wait. At Kinko's you can rent a computer station for an hour and e-mail pictures to anywhere.Many of the estimated 6,000 cybercafes worldwide have upgraded their computers and added memory card readers so users can upload their pictures. Wal-Mart will burn your images to a CD for .84 and make 4x6" prints for 29 each. Wal-Mart also offers direct posting of images to the Walmart.com web site but only for its film-processing customers for just 97 roll. Costco's 308 stores offer CD-burning for .79 and Kinko's CD service is .99 and is available at 350 stores with Sony's new self-service Picture Station kiosk. Another 450 are being fitted for the kiosk by September.
