Twitter Launches Retro Photo Filters on its Mobile App

The long rumored Twitter photo filters are finally here for mobile apps and they're just about what we expected. Update your Twitter app and you'll find a few different filters, each with a non-specific name like "happy" or "cinematic." The filters can be applied to your photos after you take them and before you post them.

While this doesn't seem like much over what Instagram offers, the addition of these filters could start to tilt things in Twitter's favor. After all, why tweet a photo from Instagram when you could take it right in Twitter? It should be interesting to see what, if any, effect this has on the two competitors.
