Transcend CFast Cards are Shipping Now
The company's new "CFast" cards use a SATA interface, rather than the ATA/IDE interface that other brands rely on. This allows their CFast cards to reach transfer rates of up to 108MB a second. That's nine seconds for an entire gigabyte of data, or about two and a half minutes to clear an entire 16GB card.
CFast cards use the same form factor as
traditional CF cards, so there's no need to worry about
compatibility. They're currently available in sizes from 2GB to 16GB and are
shipping now, however on their website they do show a 64GB model, so larger capacities should be released in the future. Check out Transcend's website for more details.
