Transcend Announces 64GB Class 10 SDXC Memory Cards

Transcend's new memory cards take advantage of the Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (yes, the X stands for extended) standard in a big way.

The Class 10 cards have a read speed of up to 25MB per second, but an unlisted write speed.  Either way, Transcend says that you'll have no problem with high speed shooting and 1080p video.

If you're shooting five megapixel JPEG photos, you'll be able to fit over 26,000 on a single card.  If video is your thing, Transcend says you'll be able to get nearly 11 hours of HD video out of their 64GB cards.

These cards are among the earliest SDXC cards, but Transcend says the future's looking bright.  A potential storage capacity of 2TB makes SDXC a format worth keeping an eye on, and more consumer products are being made compatible every day.

Transcend did not announce a price or release date for the 64GB Class 10 SDXC Memory Cards.
