Tokina Reveals atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 CF Lens for Canon EF & Nikon F Mounts

Tokina has announced the latest addition to its lineup of atx-i series lenses, the atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 CF. Pre-orders are now live for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts for $449, with shipments set to launch on November 8.

Based on Tokina's AT-X 116 PRO DX II model, the atx-i 11-16mm F2.8 CF is an ultra-wide zoom lens designed for use with APS-C sensor DSLR cameras. With its ultra-wide focal length and its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, the lens is geared toward landscapes, interiors, nightscapes, and group shots. Under the hood, the device features an optical construction consisting of 13 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical glass elements and two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements to reduce distortion, spherical aberration, and astigmatism. In addition, the unit includes a multi layer coating to minimize reflections, and a water-repellent coating for easier cleaning.
