Tokina Launches Pre-Orders for 135mm T1.5 Vista Cinema Prime Lens

Tokina has detailed its new 135mm T1.5 Vista Cinema Prime Lens. Pre-orders are now live via B&H Photo-Video for the PL-Mount, EF-Mount, E-Mount, and MFT-Mount for an MSRP of $8,999.

Compatible with large sensor cameras -- including 35mm full-frame, VistaVision, and RED MONSTRO 8K VV -- the Tokina 135mm T1.5 Vista Cinema Prime Lens is designed to capture sharp images at 8K resolution. The lens features aspherical elements and lens coatings to help minimize chromatic aberrations. In addition, the unit supports a maximum T-stop of 1.5 for better low-light recording and shallow depth of field effects. Likewise, the device utilizes a manual 9-bladed iris for pleasing bokeh without click stops, resulting in smooth exposure adjustments. Focus breathing has also been reduced for better performance when pulling focus on static shots.

The Tokina 135mm T1.5 Vista Cinema Prime Lens now joins the previously released 18, 25, 35, 50, 85, and 105mm prime models. Like the other entries in the series, this new model also uses a 114mm front diameter, a 112mm filter thread, and a common lens gear, making it easy to switch between lenses during shoots.
