Tiffen Creates Optical Filter Line for Canon 5D and Other HDSLRs

The story behind Tiffen's new filters is an interesting one, and a story that's only started to come into play with the increased use of HDSLRs as video cameras.

Shane Hurlbut was shooting the movie 'Medieval' in January and he ran into an issue with his camera array of eight Canon 5Ds. " Hurlbut used Neutral Density filters to achieve the same f-stop on the 8 side-by-side cameras," explains Tiffen. He ran into an issue though - the colors didn't match.

Tiffen's new filters are designed specifically to work within the color space of the Canon 5D. The new Water White Neutral Density filter is available in a few different kits including the Pro Plus kit, which includes four WW Neutral Density filters, a 138mm Ultra Circular Polarizer, and a six filter capacity pouch.
