Third Party E-Mount Lenses On The Way as Sony Discloses Specs
The folks at Sony have decided to
disclose the specifications for their E-mount lenses to manufacturers
of lenses and mount adapters. They're doing it absolutely free too,
which means a large group of companies are going to be able to make
E-Mount lenses in the near future.Among the companies supporting this decision are Carl Zeiss AG, Cosina, Sigma and Tamron. That's a huge chunk of lens manufacturers and certainly a great sign of things to come in the future.
"We have high expectations for the "E-mount" with its aims to create a new photography culture," says a representative from Cosina.
Tamron concurs, stating "We aim to offer our customers new solutions and unprecedented photo-shooting enjoyment through the manufacture and sale of "E-mount" lenses."
