The Nintendo 3Ds May Record 3D Video

The 3Ds is Nintendo's new glasses-free handheld system that's expected to retail for around $250 when it comes to the US. There was already a tremendous amount of excitement about the system's ability to shoot 3D photos, but Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata says video may be in the future too.

In a recent Q&A on Nintendo's site, 'Mario' creator Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned that Iwata has plans to bring 3D video to the 3Ds. Iwata responded with " I think it will be fun if we're able to include video recording capabilities with future updates."

Shigesato Itoi, creator of the 'EarthBound' series asked about the potential recording capacity, to which Iwata responded that an SD card will extend the amount of recording time. "It comes with a 2-gigabyte card, but you can, for example, use a 32-gigabyte one as well... Long videos, lots of photos, they'll fit."
