The EX-G1: Casio's New Waterproof Exilim Camera
Casio has just announced their first ever waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof Exilim digital camera, the EX-G1. Featuring an IEC/JIS Class 8 rating, this 12-megapixel camera can be submerged up to 10 feet underwater for about 60 minutes at a time. On top of this, Casio has included a 2.5-inch LCD, 3x non-protruding optical zoom lens, and a WVGA (848x480) wide aspect video option, all packaged in a thin (.78 inch) stainless steel body made to withstand external shocks. The Exilim EX-G1 will sport a suggested retail price of about US $299.99.
The first of their new G-series "endurance" line, the EX-G1 is sure to be one tough model, with the companies long history of making rugged G-Shock series wrist watches.
