The Chief Official White House Photographer Gives a 45 Minute Interview

Presidential Photographer.jpgBoy we wish we knew about this beforehand, but politics is something that we generally try and steer clear of. We're a camera site after all, but this interview with Chief Photographer Pete Souza is just too cool to pass up on.

Souza gives an incredible 45 minute interview full of advice for aspiring photographers, a bit of chat about ethical issues and plenty of shooting tips. His advice for graduating photojournalism students - prepare to work freelance.

He goes into some of the challenges of keeping photos fresh when you're snapping shots of the same person day in and day out, the daily workflow of the White House photography team and how he's able to keep things interesting for himself while primarily taking shots of meetings.

You can find the entire interview on YouTube and of course, check out the official White House photo stream to see the work of Robert and the rest of the official photographers on Flickr.
