Tamron Details 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD Portrait Zoom Lens for Nikon F & Canon EF Mounts

Tamron has revealed the newest addition to its full-frame DSLR lens lineup, the 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD (Model A043). The lens will be available for the Nikon F mount on May 23 and the Canon EF mount on June 20 at an MSRP of $799.

Geared toward portrait photography, the lens offers a zoom range of 35mm to 150mm with an F/2.8 aperture at the wide-angle end and an F/4 aperture at the telephoto end. In addition, the unit features a compact, travel-friendly design with a length of just 4.9-inches. Meanwhile, the optical design consists of 19 elements in 14 groups with three LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements and three hybrid aspherical lenses to help reduce optical aberrations. 9 circular diaphragm blades are incorporated as well to offer a pleasing bokeh effect.

When it comes to Autofocus, the device uses an OSD (Optimized Silent Drive) DC motor for quiet and fast performance, along with a Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) system for vibration compensation. Finally, a fluorine coating and moisture-resistant construction are also employed to provide protection against dirt, dust, and moisture.
