There have been some pretty significant changes to how Tamron is handling photo contests this year.  "Rather than holding one annual contest with just one chance to win," said Stacy Errea in a recent press release "we expanded the contest program to include a series of contests that allow many more people to enter."

The new contest format allows more variety as well, since a different theme will be chosen for each contest in the series.  For their first contest of the year, Tamron is asking for photographers to submit their best sunset, sunrise and nighttime images.  Ken Hubbard - Field Services Manager for Tamron and landscape photography specialist - will be judging the contest.

Tamron's also expanded eligibility out to photographers using lenses other than those sold by Tamron.  "With so many new enthusiastic novices entering this hobby, we want to give everyone the opportunity to acquire one of our lenses through our contest promotions."

The winner of the contest will get to pick from one of four Tamron lenses: the AF18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 VC Di-II, the SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 Di-II VC, the SP AF10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di-II, or the SP AF60mm F/2 Di-II.
