Sony's New Photo Frames Play HD Video

Cameras have been capable of recording high definition video in the AVCHD format for a few years now, but, until now, digital photo frames haven't been keeping up.  Sony's new frames are the first to offer support for the AVCHD format.

The new range of S-Frames comes in a variety of capabilities and in sizes from seven on up to 10 inches.  The XR100 and VR100 models come with a nice big 10.2 inch display, with the former adding TruBlack technology and a wide 160 by 160 degree viewing angle so your pictures will look great no matter where you're sitting.

Only the top frames in the line can show AVCHD will full stereo sound, but others like the battery operated S-Frame D830L are capable of standard definition video.

Sony also announced their new DPP-F800, another in the line of combination photo frame printers.  It's a slick concept, and the 8 inch frame can print a full color picture in just under a minute. You'll start seeing the new S-Frame line from Sony start to hit store shelves this October.
