Sony's New Memory Sticks Enable Wireless Transfer

Back at the Consumer Electronics Show, blogs were abuzz with information about Sony and flash memory.  2010 will finally be the year that the media giant makes the move to SD.  Not only will they be producing SD cards, but many of their devices will be taking the memory standard as well.

What many people missed - though Sony didn't really draw attention to it - was the announcement of their newest MemoryStick.  This year, Sony will be releasing an 8GB Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo with TransferJet technology priced at $99.

It's got a write speed of 32Mbps and a total usable capacity of 7.35 gigs.  It allows the wireless transfer of files from the card to any TransferJet compatible products.  At the moment, the pickings are pretty slim, but Sony does list the card as compatible with their Cybershot TX7 and HX5V/B cameras.
